Once upon a time,during my study years, there was an update for the 3D software Blender. It enabled users to keep editing the base model even after a Multires modifier had been activated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And so I was merrily testing away in January 2010, until I noticed a wondrous creature on my screen. A creature I had never seen before in my life – but who was determined to stay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since it was obvious that he enjoyed testing Blender functionality, he became my trusted companion for a wide range of experiments.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

We tested materials and lighting. We tested the physics simulation. We tested the procedural generation of plant vines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seven years later, he was ready for the next step. I gave him a more natural appearance with his own set of textures and his own default material.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2018, at the end of March, DeviantArt asked for submissions to its April Fool’s event, DeviantArt Originals<\/a>.
So The Stranger and I decided to tell our story.<\/p>\n<\/div>
